Know Before You Go
- Carry multiple layers of clothing during the trek. Temperatures are generally low in the Kasol-Chalal region. Multiple layers would allow you to keep warm and also trek comfortably in the cold.
- Carry a hiking or trekking stick to facilitate trekking
- Carry all essential medication as well as medicine for vertigo, headaches and blood pressure.
- Wear comfortable shoes while trekking, preferable hiking boots or covered sneakers
- Do not litter the campsites at Tosh or Chalal, as hygiene is a top priority in the villages
- Make sure not to demean or offend the culture of the villages
- Carry a small first aid kit along with you, which will include things like antiseptic, band-aids, cotton and other essential items.
- It is always advisable to carry insect repellant along, as the forests are prone to infestations
