Bhubhu Pass Trek in Himachal Pradesh is an ancient trail that connects the Chuhar Valley to the Lagh Valley or Kullu and it is located at a height of around 2900 meters above sea level. A trek to the pass would be a rejuvenating one as the takes you through the replenishing thickets and the rocky terrains appear on the other side.

About the Trek:

This five days Bhuba Pass trek will take you through some of the beautiful features of this region. Once you reach Manali you will enjoy the amazing sights of the stunning places here. The soulful environs of this region with the beckoning mountains, verdant valleys and the gushing streams will attract you at once. From Manali, you will trek to Dalighat through a narrow valley of Lugh. Witness the sudden changes of the landscapes and the amazing beauty around you. 

During the trek, you will stay at Dak Bungalow. Continue trekking through the deodar, oak and walnut before and then reach Jhingbhan. Your trekking route will be a moderate one as you gain the altitude. You will come across the best views of the Indrasan and Deo Tibba peaks. As you continue you will trek through the ridge and other natural marvels of the famous Kangra settlements. You will come across the scenic views of the alpine meadows leading the ways to reach high altitude streams. 

Slowly you will come across the newer villages of the Kangra Valley. Continue to your next destination of Mulling and Barot which is another beauty of the region. Explore the meandering beauty of the quaint villages of Barot and Bir-Billing; which is a popular paragliding site. You will complete your trek on the fifth day as head back to Dharamshala.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Arrival in Manali

    Upon your arrival in Manali, take the day off to spend leisurely by meeting the scenic environs and watch the crowded streets of this magnificent hill station.

    Stay overnight in the hotel after strolling around.

  • Day 2 - Driver from Manali to Dalighat, Trek from Dalighat to Dak Bungalow: 3 Hours Trek, Mall Road, Lug Valley, Western Tragopans

    After you assemble at Saba Restaurant in Mall Road at around 08:30 in the morning, begin the expedition with a downhill drive through the Kullu Valley to reach Dhalpur.

    You will be taken to the narrow valleys of Lug and this drive may show you the sudden changes in the landscape.

    Continuing the journey from Lug Valley, it will take you to Dhalighat, the starting point of this trek.

    From then onward, take a delightful walk through the scenic thickets of deodar, oak, walnut, horse chestnut and cedar until you reach Dak Bungalow.

    If you are luncky, you may spot the colourful Western Tragopans as well en route.

  • Day 3 - Trek from Dak Bungalow to Jhingbhan (via Bhubhu Pass/3,000m): 7 Hours Trek, Bhubhu Pass, Indrasan & Deo Tibba Peaks, Kangra Valley

    Post breakfast today morning, head out to walk through the oak and deodar forests.

    As you climb the altitude, you will be able to witness and enjoy amazing views of the Indrasan and Deo Tibba peaks.

    Arrive at Bhubu Pass after the trek and the most important attraction here is the Lord Ganesha shrine.

    From this pass, Kangra Valley will be visible at its best way.

    Continuing from here, you will come across a ridge of a mountain going to the vast verdant meadows and pastures.

    Following this trail, you will reach Jhingbhan, the destination for the day.

  • Day 4 - Trek from Jhingbhan to Dentbhial: 6 Hours Trek, Small Kangra Villages, Terraced Farmlands

    Make your way to the destination for the day that is Dentbhial which will take you through a ridge and other natural marvels.

    Enjoy the picture perfect views of the Kangra settlements that are adorned with terraced farmlands on the way.

  • Day 5 - Trek from Dentbhial to Mulling (4 Hours), Drive from Mulling to Dharamshala

    Waking up in the morning, get ready to be friends with the natural landscapes that will leas you to reach the altitude streams and some of the newer villages in Kangra Valley.

    While crossing through these villages, you will be wondered to observe the rustic culture and lifestyle of the locals.

    Descending further will lead you to Mulling and then Barot.

    Then move to Dharamshala by a vehicle.

    On your way, explore some of the quaint little villages of Barot and Bir-Billing; a popular paragliding site.

    With your arrival in Dharamshala, this fun-filled and exciting Bhubhu Pass trek will come to an end.
